Known since 1973, the breakthrough only came in 2012 - and the small Flandin cave has become the Flandin-Fourchette system. It is located in the Orgnac-Issirac forest near the well-known Aven d'Orgnac. The GASOIL working group has explored the system and closed it off - but grantes easy access!
In practice, the cave system consists of two parts, which in theory are connected by extremely narrow passages. An artificial shaft allows access via Aven Flandin in the direction of Fourchette. But even there are numerous narrow passages to overcome.
The large hall in the Flandin cave with its candle-shaped stalagmites is particularly impressive.
