Do we have to write something about the famous Aven de Noel?
135 meter of impressive pit followed by an endless hiking through gigantic tunnels. Stunning formations, gigantic calcite pools, helictites, gypsum flowers and finally the calcified bat.....! You have to see it on your own and take the time to visit every part of this cave. By the way: the cave is closed and a visit must be organised and authorised by a local protection organisation (ARSPAN). A solid knowledge of SRT is adviceable as well as some physical fitness and a good amount of edible water. The stale air and high temperature combined with some kilometers of walking gives you a good sweat!
Conclusion: A great classic of the Ardeche area and definitely a must for every caver!
