We have seen and photographed it!
The "blue grotto". Not the one near Capri, so called because of the blue seawater - but the one in the south of France, which is adorned with blue aragonite crystals. This is very rare worldwide and is due to small traces of strontium in the aragonite. In addition to the blue aragonite clusters, the Grotte de l'Asperge also offers extremely impressive white aragonite. The contrast between coralloid and crystalline aragonite is particularly striking.
A visit to (the secret, closed and locked) cave is a day-long activity. You spend almost three hours slithering, crawling and scrambling through relatively wet and unpleasant parts until it gets nice. The first clusters of crystals suddenly appear out of nowhere. The total length of the cave is now over 7 km! At the end, a crystal clear and deep blue siphon awaits.
Lots of wild asparagus grows outside!!!!
